Pav Bhaji - Maharastrian Cuisine

Pav bhaji is a fast food dish from Maharashtra,India.It consists of vegetables curry ( bhaji) served with Soft bread roll knows as Pav. It comes in many varieties including cheese Pav bhaji,panner Pav bhaji and Jain Pav bhaji etc.Its a wholesome meal can be served at any time of the day.

Ingredients includes.

500 grams Boiled vegetables ( potato,cauliflower,green peas,capsicum,beans etc)
2 no.Medium sized onion chopped.
2 no. Medium sized tomato chopped.
2 tbsp oil for shallow frying vegetables.
1 tbsp Pav bhaji Masala.
Salt to taste.
Chilli powder to taste if u want it to be spicy.
6 Pav available in any grocery store or supermarket.
Butter for tossing Pav and garnishing bhaji.
Coriander leaves for garnishing.
1 Sliced onion and lemon to serve with Pav bhaji.

Procedure :  Peel and chop all vegetables and boil them in pressure cooker till 3-4 take oil in pan and fry chopped onions till it becomes light brown ,add chopped tomatoes and cook till they are soft.Its time to add spices including Pav bhaji masala,salt and chilli powder is optional.Roast them till it leaves oil from sides .Add boiled vegetables in it and mash them with potato masher and cook for 2-3 mins.Add butter and chopped coriander leaves.

Toast Pav in butter on hot Tawa by slicing them from center. Serve Pav bhaji hot with sliced onions and lemon..Enjoy eating :)
