Penne Pasta in Tomato Sauce - Italian Cuisine

Pasta is a staple food of traditional Italian cuisine.It can be made from variety of flour,cereals or grains.It is a simple dish but comes in large variety and shapes.It can be served as main course for lunch or dinner with breads and salads.

Ingredients are as follow

500 Grams boiled penne pasta.
2 medium sized finely sliced onion.
2 medium sized finely sliced green capsicum( u can used red /yellow capsicum).
2 medium sized sliced carrots.
1/2 Bowl of corn (optional)
3 tomatoes (puree form)
4 tbsp of tomato ketchup
5 tbsp of oil.(3 for shallow frying and 2 needed during boiling of pasta)
Salt to taste.
3 tsp Red chilli flakes (increase or decrease quantity according to taste)
4 tsp oregano flakes for seasoning.
2 tbsp eggless mayonnaise.(optional)


Method: First boil penne pasta as per instructions written on pack in big vessel by putting some amount of oil and salt so that pasta don't stick to each other while boiling. Sieve it from strainer and keep it aside by putting little oil on it.

 Take a non stick wok,heat oil in it and add sliced onions ,you can use chopped garlic too but we don't eat it.After onion becomes transparent in color add rest of vegetables including capsicum,carrots, corn.Saute all veggies for 3-4 minutes and add tomato puree in it.Cook them for 1-2 minutes and add salt to taste.Now add boil pasta,tomato ketchup and mayonnaise and mix well.Its time to add italian seasoning including red chilli flakes and oregano and give final toss.Switch off gas.

Serve hot with your choice of bread and salad.I love eating it with garlic bread.
